Why become a member of the Florida Ocean Alliance?

  • The Florida Ocean Alliance is positioning Florida as a national and global leader in ocean and coastal research, conservation, education, and responsible economic development.

 

The Florida Ocean Alliance:

  • Is the only nonpartisan organization in Florida dedicated to bringing together the private sector, academia, and nonprofit research organizations to protect and enhance Florida’s coastal and ocean resources for continued social and economic benefits.

  • Serves as a clearinghouse for science-based information on key ocean and coastal issues important to both public and private sector interests in Florida.

  • Implements strategic independent research projects, economic evaluations and issue papers that provide knowledge for the public and ocean/coastal policy development.

  • Provides expert testimony to national or state agencies, commissions and industry sectors concerned with ocean or coastal issues and policy.

  • Hosts the annual Florida Oceans Day in Tallahassee to bring much-needed attention on ocean and coastal issues to State leaders and legislators, as well as Florida’s congressional delegation.

  • Provides members with updated information on related policy initiatives, opportunities for engagements, and contacts as needed.

  • Provides opportunities to meet and discuss ocean and coastal issues with leading experts and Congressional and State representatives and staff.
